An observation from Boston: Complete absence of dialogue about the security surveillance cameras installed all over the city during the DNC, but not removed after.
Hate to sound like a paranoiac but let's just say, I'm not counting on my elected reps nor the ACLU (CLUM here) to be calling this to anyone's attention.
Cheers,
Jacqueline
PS Nicholas, I'm a food writer (Gourmet Food) but also a non-practicing attorney here.) You may find interesting my post on my personal blog regarding arrests at a debate in Maryland.

Jacqueline,
Thanks for the message. I will check your blog post soon but wanted to get back to you quickly. I think your points are certainly fair about the lack of accountability or dialogue in regards to surveillance. I think what gets lost with the larger NSA program are all of the smaller surveillance (i.e. traffic cameras, profiling by computer, etc.) that are becoming more common place in America. Just like everything else in America, the national gets more press than the local when the latter holds more importance to all Americans.
